Dates
Stored as GEDCOM strings — "ABT 1850", "BET 1800 AND 1810" — never coerced to timestamps, so partial and approximate dates survive.
Evidence layer
Sources, repositories, and citations with QUAY 0–3 surety grades, verbatim quotations, and supports/contradicts weighting.
Living privacy
No death date means treated as living, means private by default. Per-person overrides exist, and a deny outranks everyone — including admins.
Review queue
Propose, review, apply. Contributions from relatives, guests, and AI assistants all wait for the family's sign-off. Nothing overwrites silently.
Guest research
Person-scoped research projects give an outside collaborator exactly the people they need and nothing else.
